Crick’s Director receives Albert Einstein World Award of Science

Director of the Francis Crick Institute, Sir Paul Nurse, will today receive The World Cultural Council's Albert Einstein World Award of Science at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The award honours those whose research has brought "true benefit and well-being to mankind", and acknowledges Paul's "outstanding and continuing career as a scientific leader, as well as his accomplishments as one of the world's leading biochemists and geneticists."

The World Cultural Council is an international organisation, founded in 1981 and based in Mexico, whose mission is to promote culture, values and goodwill. It presents two other annual awards: the José Vasconcelos World Award of Education and the Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts.

The World Award of Science committee is made up of world renowned scientists, including 25 Nobel laureates.
