The Crick offers project-based work experience placements through the Nuffield Foundation on their Nuffield Research Placements programme. Placements last for four to six weeks, take place during the 2018 summer holidays, and are only open to students in Year 12 of their studies. Additional application criteria apply.

Applications for 2018 placements open on 30th November 2017.

Competition for Nuffield Research Placements is high. To ensure applications are of a good standard and therefore more likely to be successful, it is advised that students and teachers refer to the following information on the Nuffield Foundation's website:

The application page can be found here.

Successful recruitment to the Nuffield Research Placements programme does not guarantee that students will receive a placement at the Crick. If not, however, it is likely that it will result in a placement at another quality organisation.

The Nuffield Research Placements programme is a national scheme. Placements for the Greater London and Surrey regions are coordinated by The Brilliant Club. Should applicants for placements at the Crick have any questions, please contact the Brilliant Club at:

The deadline for applications is 13th March 2018 at 12 noon.

Good luck!

  • The Crick would encourage all eligible students to apply for a placement through the Social Mobility Foundation or Nuffield Foundation.
  • The programmes offered by these organisations are extensive and offer significant support in addition to the work experience placement itself.
